KZ Optical respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We follow applicable Canadian and British Columbia privacy laws.

What we collect

• Contact and delivery details: your name, email, phone number and address.
• Order details: the frames, lenses and options you choose.
• Prescription information: the values you type in, notes, and any prescription file you upload. This is health-related information, so we treat it with extra care.
• Payment confirmation: your payment is processed by Square. We receive a payment reference and the amount, but never your full card number.

Why we collect it

We use your information to take and fulfil your order, make your lenses, ship your glasses, confirm your order by email, answer your questions, and handle returns, remakes and refunds. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your prescription for any other purpose.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed to complete your order, with the service providers that help us do so:

• Our eyewear supplier and lab, who make and supply your glasses and need your prescription and delivery details.
• Square, which processes payments.
• Our website host and storage provider, which store order and prescription information securely. Prescription files are stored privately and are not publicly accessible.
• Our email service, which sends order emails.
• Shipping carriers, who need your name and delivery address.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and your browser

Your shopping cart is kept in your own browser so it is still there when you come back. We do not use it to track you across other websites.

How long we keep it

We keep order and prescription information for as long as we need it to fulfil your order, handle returns and warranty claims, and meet legal and accounting requirements. After that we delete it or anonymize it.

Protecting your information

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, private storage for prescription files, and limited access to order information. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices
